The heat brings hot activities in the St George Region!

Wet and Wild
There is something so exciting about Summer out here, the river is literally alive with activities…. Boats zipping about, closely followed by an array of people showing off their skills. Wake boarders, bare footers, knee boarders and both kids and adults rocking the tube. If a tow behind the boat isn’t challenging enough then you’ll be pleased to know that we have a brand-new Slalom course to get the adrenaline pumping. If you’re the type that would simply like to soak up the ambiance, atmosphere and sunshine in your face, that only a quiet paddle in a canoe or kayak can provide, then that’s definitely an option.

If alternating laps in a refreshing crystal-clear pool and soaking in the minerals of warm artesian water is more your thing then the St George Aquatics Centre is the perfect location. Send the little ones off to the new splash park when it’s completed to run some energy, they’ll spend hours on the slides and under the giant water buckets, the perfect day out for the whole family.

Bush Tucker
Have you ever stopped and looked hard at the trees out this way? I know lots of locals that particularly love this time of year for the native bush tucker. We’re talking Quandongs – perfect for jams or pie, wild passionfruit- ever had that as a curd? Bush limes, and our favourite prickly pear!

Cotton Eyed
The cotton industry always has something interesting happening all year round, during summer is our growing season. Go for a self-drive and check out the vibrant, baby green plants, then come back in March and watch it be harvested, you could also go along on a cotton farm and vineyard tour to get the full story and more.

Don’t let the heat deter you from an awesome extended holiday or even a quick visit to the St George Region, we have heaps of ways to keep cool!
